2017 Barrel Aged Avarice

As winter descends on the Rockies and we seek out darker brews, one jet-black concoction still holds the title of the beer that started it all - the O.G. of the RNB barrel-aged chronicle. Brewed since our inception, the sixth generation of Barrel-Aged Avarice debuts Saturday, November 11th in the taproom!

A dry Belgian-style imperial stout, this vintage of Barrel-Aged Avarice spent 10 months aging in whiskey barrels, complimenting base notes of baker’s chocolate with smooth oaky tannins. This beer is always quaffable and never too sweet, a strikingly different take on the style.

For this year’s release party, we will tap a three-year vertical of Barrel-Aged Avarice when doors open at Noon! Dating back to the 2015, these are the oldest River North kegs known to be in existence. So enjoy a piece of brewery history, with food offerings from our friends at Rag Bag Bistro.

For bottles, we can offer 2017 Barrel-Aged Avarice at $10 each with a one-case limit. A limited amount will also ship to stores prior to Thanksgiving. As a drier example of a robust whiskey-aged stout, this beer is the ideal complement to turkey, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

This year’s release party also falls on Veterans Day. With countless family and friends who have served, we’d like to offer all veterans a free beer on Saturday the 11th. We sincerely thank you for your service.

As we round out the year, we’d like to give you a heads up on the rest of our releases for 2017. Mark your calendars for the following, all starting at Noon in the taproom:

  • Saturday, November 25th: The Vicennial Series: Barrel-Aged God Complex, Barrel-Aged Shadowman and Barrel-Aged Father Time

  • Saturday, December 9th: Mr. Sandman and Barrel-Aged Mr. Sandman

  • Saturday, December 30th: Single Cask Tripel: Manhattan Cocktail Barrel
