Quandary returns to the taprooms this weekend with an added twist: whiskey barrels. For those who are new(er) to River North Brewery, we have been brewing Quandary since the conception of our Belgian-forward brewery at our original location, and this concept of Quandary is a match made in craft beer heaven. This 11.8% ABV Quandary has been aging in whiskey barrels for eight months now and picked up some subtle whiskey notes, making this quadrupel very smooth and easy to drink
With Memorial Day coming up and the world seeming to get back to a new normal, we are excited to get the summer started with an Aspen Wood-Aged version of J. Marie, our imperial saison. We partnered with Locke and Co Distilling to provide the aspen wood for this small-batch release. J. Marie, our long-time standing imperial saison, has always been a favorite of those seeking a farmhouse ale with traditional Belgian style flavors while partaking in an exceptionally higher ABV.
We weren't kidding when we said we wanted to produce giant, imperial beers. Our newest concoction clocks in at 19.5% ABV, and will be released this Saturday, May 15th at both taprooms. You won't even believe that this imperial stout is almost 20% ABV, AND you can pre-order your bottles for pickup at both taprooms starting this Friday! You might want to take a second, or a significantly longer amount of time, to enjoy this imperial stout that boasts some really robust flavors.
