Toasting to 12 Years: Anniversary Extravaganza on Feb. 17!
A lot of amazing things happened in the year 2012, but one of the most momentous (according to our totally unbiased crew here at River North) was the grand opening of this brewery! To celebrate our twelfth anniversary, we are toasting with a gargantuan barrel-aged stout in true River North fashion. The highlight of the anniversary party will be the Anniversary 12 Stout, a complex blend of single, double, triple, and quadruple barrel-aged stouts. This beer has been a long time in the making with some barrels dating all the way back to 2021. This year’s stout clocks in at a jaw-dropping 22.1% ABV. The character of this beer is unparalleled. Of the many barrels that went into the making of this beer, some of the highlights are Colorado bourbon, Kentucky bourbon, honey barrel finished whiskey, tequila barrel finished whiskey, sherry barrel finished whiskey, Colorado rye whiskey, and Colorado single malt whiskey barrels. Whew! Bottles will be $30 each and will be available at both taprooms until they sell out.
The event will also feature the return of Party Excuse, which first debuted at our 10th-anniversary party. Party Excuse is the opposite of our Anniversary 12, a 4.7% ABV easy-drinking hazy pale ale, brewed with a boatload of fruity and tropical hops, including Idaho 7, Sabro, and Alora. Party Excuse will be available on tap and in 6-packs for $12 each.
Both taprooms will have food trucks posted up for the day to help you soak up all the delicious liquids on tap. And, as is our tradition, will also be tapping some rare treats from the cellar, as well as one of our much-loved birthday cake stouts.

Saturday will be the craziest day of the weekend, but if you would prefer to celebrate when it's a little more low-key, we will reserve a keg and several cases of the Anniversary 12 Stout for both taprooms to be tapped at open on Sunday, Feb. 18. We will also be hosting a cheese pairing on Thursday at the Washington Street taproom. So come celebrate a dozen years of existence with us! See you there!
