River North Brewery Celebrates 14 Years With the Strongest Beer Ever Brewed in Colorado

Anniversary 14 arrives February 21. And River North just made Colorado history.
River North Brewery started 14 years ago with a small team, a big obsession with beer, and a dream that has grown into two Denver locations and one of the most passionate beer communities out there.
Every year when our anniversary rolls around, we ask the same question: how can it possibly get better than last year?
And every year, it does. This year is no exception.
Anniversary 14: Our 14th Anniversary Barrel-Aged Stout Blend
Anniversary 14 is everything we love most about River North.
It’s a massive blend of double, triple, and quadruple barrel-aged imperial stouts, built layer by layer from the barrels that define our story. Bold, smooth, and honestly hard to believe, this year’s anniversary blend clocks in at 22% ABV and drinks far too easily for something this big.
Anniversary 14 will be available on draft and in bottles to-go at both taprooms. Pre-sales will be announced soon. Want to be the first to know? Join our newsletter for early access and release updates.
If you’ve been around for our anniversary releases before, you already know the deal. These beers do not stick around for long.
Barrel No. 5: The Strongest Beer Ever Brewed in Colorado
Now, the one making history: Barrel No. 5.
The fifth barrel in the Anniversary 14 blend, released on its own as something truly unreal, a quadruple barrel-aged imperial stout clocking in at a record-breaking 25.8% ABV.
Yes, you read that correctly. Barrel No. 5 is officially the strongest beer ever brewed in Colorado.

Barrel No. 5 taps at 2:58 PM sharp on February 21 at the in an extremely limited, ticketed release.
The only guaranteed way to taste it is through the ticketed commemorative glass package, which includes a pour of Barrel No. 5, a souvenir glass to take home, and a special group cheers during the Anniversary party. Details will drop first in the newsletter.
We may have a very limited amount left to pour after, but with a beer this rare, nothing is guaranteed.
River North Brewery Anniversary Weekend Schedule (February 20-22)
We’re celebrating all weekend long at both taprooms, and you’re invited to be part of it.
Friday 2/20: Salsa, Sips & Celebration
7:00PM at RiNo
Our salsa class is basically turning into an Anniversary pre-party this month. Join Dina for a salsa lesson, then stick around for an incredible dance session after. The perfect way to kick off the weekend.
Saturday 2/21: Anniversary 14 Bash
All Day at both taprooms
The main event. Anniversary 14. Barrel No. 5. Food trucks, dessert vendors, and the full River North experience. We highly recommend arriving early. These beers will not last.
Sunday 2/22: Anniversary Beer Pairing Dinner
5:30PM at RiNo
We’ve hosted beer pairing dinners with Thistle & Mint for years, and this one is especially meaningful. This will be their final dinner before they shut down operations, so if you’ve ever been waiting for a sign to attend one of these incredible nights, this is it. Chef Jared has promised to go out with an absolute bang, and only a few seats remain.
Dessert, Tacos, and Beer Heaven
What’s a birthday party without dessert?
At North, we’ll have Perfectly Sweet Cookies bringing an assortment of River North-themed cookies and sweets, some even made with beer inside. Beer heaven really does exist.
At RiNo, we’ll have The Yellow Fix serving up the banana pudding we dream about, fluffy, nostalgic, and absolutely perfect with an imperial stout.
If you’re coming hungry, we’ve got some all time favorites serving food at both taprooms too:
Ecos de Mexico at North, serving up seriously unforgettable tacos. (Just ask Paul)
Moya’s Tacos at RiNo, a River North staple with some of the best street tacos around.
We’re so grateful.
Celebrate with us. Drink history.
February 21.
Cheers,
Your River North Crew
