Single Cask Quandary: Scotch Barrel

Our favorite part of the Single Cask series is that we get to experiment with new barrels and flavor combinations, pushing the envelope to find new delicious concoctions. The next beer in the series does just that.

On Saturday, June 2nd at Noon, we’ll release Single Cask Quandary: Scotch, our signature quadrupel aged in – what else – a Scotch whisky barrel! Designed to showcase the essence of a single oak barrel, all Single Cask beers are only available in the taproom. With only one standout cask to pull from for each release, these beers are our most limited.

Subtle and restrained on the nose, Single Cask Quandary: Scotch presents like a quintessential barrel-aged quad (if there is such a thing), with notes of plums, figs and dates, and an underlying dry oak. Once on the palate, the barrel notes open up, finishing with a pleasant, subtle peat character. The final result is a harmonious marriage of beer and barrel.

As with all Single Cask releases, River Norther Society members will get one bottle reserved with their membership. The remainder will be available to both society members and the public when we open on the 2nd. After Norther allocations, we will have roughly ten cases available; snag up to four bottles per person at $12 each. While we will have Single Cask Quandary: Scotch on tap as well, with only one keg, when it’s gone, it’s gone!

This will be the third Single Cask beer in 2018, so stay tuned for three additional releases in the coming months!

Cheers,

RNB
