A new direction...

Sometimes you just need some more hops in your life. We’ve always been known for fine Belgian-style ales. But the truth is, we’re equal opportunity brewers at heart. We crave beers from across the globe like fine Pilsners, deliciously hoppy west coast IPAs, and robust Porters.

Tomorrow Wednesday 9/14, we’ll tap “Hooray for Hops Vol. 1, Inexplicable Hoppenstance.” The first in a series of American IPAs, this beauty was brewed with Columbus, Cascade, El Dorado, Falconer’s Flight and Simcoe. A few weeks behind that, look for “Hooray for Hops Vol. 2, Electric Lupuloo,” with more fun versions to follow.

From here on out, we’re spreading our wings. But don’t worry, we aren’t abandoning any of the classic River North favorites. Beers like White, Quandary and J. Marie built this house, and we’re not about to pull any cornerstones.

In case you missed it, River North Pils, our first foray outside the Belgian realm, is already flowing at the taproom and will hit your favorite bars and taphouses around town starting this week. In addition, next week we’ll tap River North Porter, a robust American-style Porter, to satisfy the roasted malt lover in all of us.

For now, these beers will be draft-only, meaning if you want some for your fridge, you gotta come hit up our new crowler machine. But down the line, don’t be surprised when you see a can of River North IPA on the shelf…sans any Belgian yeast.
